In the year 1936 the government reserved 318.54 sq. km of area, including 520 sq. km. of core area and 797.72 sq. km. of buffer area for wildlife. Later became Corbett National Park – named after great hunter turned conservationist Jim Corbett. Now it became the haven for wildlife lovers. A great place to enjoy and find yourself among wildlife.
Safari is the only way to explore the wildness of corbett national park. Corbett national park is divided into four safari zones i.e. Bijrani safari Zone, Dhikala safari Zone, Durga Devi safari Zone, Jhirna safari Zone.
Bijrani safari Zone- the entrance of this safari zone is called Amanda gate which is about one kms away from Ramnagar town. Bijrani is a very attractive place and is known for its beautiful grass lands, deep forest and tempestuous drains and wild life. This safari zone is remain closed between 30th of June to 15th of Oct.
Winter Timing: Morning: 0730 hrs to 1030 hrs; Evening: 1500 hrs to 1700 hrs
Summer Timing: Morning: 0630 hrs to 0930 hrs; Evening: 1600 hrs to 1800 hrs
Durga Devi safari Zone – this is fabulous tourist spot situated along Ramganga river in hilly area. As in all safari zones you have to take permitted to Corbett national park authority. Here you can find the famous Mahashir fish in the river water. this safari zone is remain closed between 30th of June to 1st of November.
Winter Timing: Morning: 0730 hrs to 1030 hrs; Evening: 1500 hrs to 1700 hrs
Summer Timing: Morning: 0630 hrs to 0930 hrs; Evening: 1600 hrs to 1800 hrs
Dhikala safari Zone- It is the best safari zone in Corbett National Park. The entrance of this safari zone is called Dhangari gate. This safari zone is closed between 15th of June to 15th of November.
Winter Timing: Morning: 0730 hrs to 1030 hrs; Evening: 1500 hrs to 1700 hrs
Summer Timing: Morning: 0630 hrs to 0930 hrs; Evening: 1600 hrs to 1800 hrs
Jhirna safari Zone- This marvelous safari zone is 16 kms from Ramnagar. The entire area is known for its natural beauty. You can book your safari six days before the day you want safari. This is the only safari zone open for visitors thought out the year.
Winter Timing: Morning: 0730 hrs to 1030 hrs; Evening: 1500 hrs to 1700 hrs
Summer Timing: Morning: 0630 hrs to 0930 hrs; Evening: 1600 hrs to 1800 hrs
There are three way to enjoy these safari zones Elephant safari, Canter Safari, and Jeep safari.
Elephant Safari- Elephant safari know as adventure safari in corbett park. Elepahant safari is always pleasant either in Corbett National Park or elsewhere. But Corbett elephant safari has its own experience and joy.

Jeep safari- It is the best way to explore the wildness of corbett national park.
Jeep safari is available in every safari zone Bijrani safari zone, Dhikala safari zone, Durgadevi safari zone & Jhirna safari zone.
Winter Timing: Morning 0700 hrs to 0100 hrs; Evening 1430 hrs to 17300 hrs
Summer Timing: Morning 0530 hrs to 0900 hrs; Evening 1530 hrs to 1900 hrs
Canter Safari: it is an another way to explore the core area of corbett national park. This is safari give you chance to view the beauty inside corbett tiger reserve and outside corbett tiger reserve. This safari begins and ends at Ramnagar. 18 persons can enjoy the safari in one time.
Summer Timing: Morning 0530 hrs to 1230 hrs; Afternoon 1230 hrs to 0630 hrs
Winter Timing: Morning 0630 hrs to 1130 hrs; Afternoon 1130 hrs to 0430 hrs
