No matter what crowd you’re selling to, your business could benefit from a membership site.
What is a membership site? It is simply a site you create that provides some ongoing stream of products or services to your prospects. In turn, those prospects pay you a monthly fee for access to those products or services. The beauty of a membership site is the recurring income potential it creates for your business.

Let’s see how this might work with a particular example. If you have a website where you teach golfing tips, you could provide a membership site in which your customers have access to you on a regular basis for golf coaching, “underground tips” and support. While the golf ebook you might sell on your site brings you a one-time payment of $67, a good membership site can often earn you $67 per month i.e. $804 per year.

Imagine for a moment if you could provide enough value so that 100 people join your membership site. Under the figures I stated above you’d be raking in a whopping $804,000 per year! That’s just a taste of how converting your one time product into a membership site can truly skyrocket your income.

Now of course, there is a catch. It’s a lot more difficult to get your prospects to shell out a monthly fee than it is get them to make a one time purchase.

Victims of credit card debt have become very cynical about anything that charges their card on a recurring basis. But this hurdle can be overcome in two ways.

1. Provide tremendous value. If your membership site doesn’t offer anything that’s much better than what you’ve sold in your original product, you’ll be fighting an uphill battle.
If you membership services are something people truly would benefit from you will achieve success with your membership site.
2. Drive lots of targeted traffic to your site. All things being equal, the more visitors in your sales funnel, the greater the chances you’ll find those 100 people interested in your membership program. So it may take 100,000 visitors before you achieve those 100 members, but the reward for your effort is the greatest retirement plan on earth. So you might just consider what that’s worth to you and give it a shot.
