Viewers in Los Angeles fall in love with a captivating musical journey: Emilys Song

Recently, showgoers discovered the impassioned story of Emily, through the interpretation of Lindsey Haun (Emily Everson), Tom Schmid (Charlie) and Darcy Rose Byrnes (Young Emily). The concept of this impressive scenario was created by Chet Holmes, director and author, while recuperating from a terrible experience of his own. It was then unveiled to him in what way his kids happiness would have differed in the instance that he were suddenly not around any further. This amazing reflection enabled him to create the one hundred acts play within a couple of weeks.

The intense journey made a great impression on its spectators as well as critics too, due to the superb vocal performances and plot twists. The audience experiences virtually every moment with Emily, they sense her complications, they bear with her and discover massive enjoyment the moment she finally carries out her wishes, falls deeply in love with a fine man and is reunited with her dad.

This moving play moved the crowd so much that a theatergoer, Gerald (68) had to say that: "I was so moved, I actually had to wipe tears from my face. And I don't cry, ever. It was a really joyous ending". Others were convinced with the premium quality of the journey right after taking a look at the trailer: "After watching the trailer, I knew it was going to be good, but I never thought it would be that good. I was blown away" (Stephanie, 36). Marty (45), a fan definitely acquainted to Chet Holmes's skills, flew in from Arizona exclusively for this specific performance: "Outstanding. My wife and I flew in from Arizona because I've heard of the author, and knew he has high standards, but this blew me away. My wife was moved to tears as well". The younger patrons identified themselves in Emilys' Song, Ali (16) saying: "I loved Wicked, but this is ten times better than Wicked, which was my favorite play until this". Some appreciated it so much, they enjoyed it over and over again: "This is my second time and I'm begging my mother to go again. The music was fantastic and the story was amazing!" (Nicole, 13).

But precisely what made this production so wonderful? Some express that it was exactly the similarities with actual life tales in which the the patrons became aware of themselves. Others agree with the fact that the amazing voices transposed natural thoughts, realistic enjoyment, realistic emotions, giving life to their written roles. Unquestionably, everyone feels that this is a play, which L.A. won't overlook that easily.

Emilys Song ran through February at Hudson Backstage Theatre.
