It is true that there is definitely real money to be made online, but the people that are making real money have spent the time and put in the hard work to build their businesses just like anyone else, and they aren't the people trying to sell you something, they are the people that you never hear about. Many internet scams of this nature promise to make you thousands of dollars within the first month and offer to show you how for a fee. The only money these people make is the money that they take from unsuspecting consumers so avoid anything like this.

Never pay anyone to be a part of something where you can earn money. There are lots of websites and companies out there that claim to offer you the chance to make money or be a part of an organization that makes money in exchange for small fee or monthly subscription, and then they take your money and never produce anything. All of the best affiliate programs, publishing programs, and content websites that pay writers don't charge you anything to join and be a part of them. Look at Google Adsense for example, they pay out millions and millions of dollars to their publishers and they don't charge them a cent to join. Remember this when someone wants to solicit your money for an "opportunity" to earn big bucks.

Don't fall for the secrets line. So many internet frauds and scams offer to reveal special secrets about how to earn money that no one else knows. While there are some legitimate sales pitches that do include the use terminology like "secrets" - be aware that it is essentially always a scam when it refers to making money online. Some of the best information there is about earning an extra paycheck on the internet is completely free to anyone via blogs and message boards, so don't believe the hype.
Step 4
Steer clear of referral based schemes. These are known as pyramid, MLM, or ponzi schemes and are very popular on the internet. The basic premise is that you pay to join and then get money for people that you refer. What it boils down to is a big pyramid scheme where new members are continuously funneling money to a company and the previous person is taking money from the next person and it turns out to be a big mess and a lot of deceit. There are many affiliate marketing programs disguised this way so make sure to check out reviews before you join and remember not to pay anyone to join any type of program, EVER.
Step 5
Stay strong, and don't get sucked in by flashy pictures that show people next to expensive sports cars or big mansions. The people who actually live in big mansions and drive sports cars like that aren't wasting their time trying to prove that and sell you some kind of junk. Don't let these images of wealth persuade you into giving up your hard earned money to be scammed.
