The Bellagio Hotel is one of the elite hotels in Las Vegas. Located in a prime location on the Las Vegas Strip, the Bellagio, like many Las Vegas hotels, offers full hotel accommodations, numerous restaurants and a spa. One of the things that separates the Bellagio from other top hotels is its amazing collection of water fountains. The Fountains of Bellagio offer an amazing display unlike anything found in the world.

The Fountains of Bellagio stand next to a beautiful 9-acre lake built by the Bellagio Hotel. The fountains were created in honor of Bellagio, Italy. Each fountain is synchronized and choreographed to music and lights. During the week (Mon. thru Fri.) shows run from 3:00 p.m. to midnight. Weekend shows start at noon and last until midnight. The shows feature music from opera, Broadway, and from classical composers. Some songs include: “Singin’ in the Rain,” “PinkPanther,” “Your Song,” “This Kiss,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini,” and “Viva Las Vegas.” The day shows are held every 30 minutes, and the evening shows start every 15 minutes.

The Bellagio Hotel is owned by the MGM Mirage. Steve Wynn, owner of Mirage Resorts, Inc., proposed to build the Bellagio after the Dunes Hotel was demolished in 1993. Wynn built the Bellagio Hotel’s lake to mimic Lake Como of Bellagio, Italy. The lake supplies the fountains with its fresh water. The complete construction of the Bellagio Fountains cost about $50 million. The extravagant show features 4,500 lights and over 1,200 water nozzles. These high-powered nozzles shoot the water 250 ft into the air. WET Design was contracted by Wynn to design and complete the fountains. Movie fans can see the Bellagio Fountains in Lucky You (2007), Ocean’s Eleven, and Ocean’s Thirteen. Visit www.bellagio.com for more information.
