Career politicians have become the modern day ruling class. They impose their will over the citizens with little regard for the freedom of the individual. They sell themselves out to the highest bidder so as to maintain their life of luxury and power.
Today as I contemplate the topic of politics I see that politicians have become our modern day ruling class. Many if not most are career politicians and that by itself is a problem. If it is your career it is your lively hood and you must do what is necessary to secure it. Our founding fathers were not career politicians, but individual citizens who volunteered a few years of their life to serve their country, to secure freedom. It was on the basis that our government was of the people, by the people and for the people. If you look at our government today, can you say that is true anymore?
Today we have a two party system in place that play a game with the public. They give the people an illusion that we have a choice in our vote. But they simply pass the torch back and forth, each placing more laws in place that take away our ability to be self rulers. It is like a chess game and the citizens are the Pons. They give the illusion that they are serving the people but in reality are only securing their rule over us, our domain. They spend our hard earned money which they force us to give them, like there is no end to the bank account only to lay a heavy burden not only on us but our children as well. And all this time they live a life of power and luxury, and seem to be intoxicated by it with no desire to serve the people but to serve themselves and their life style.
Why is there even political parties to start with? Are we not to elect a public servant from among us who we know will stand for the freedom of the individual, and serve the purpose of defending those rights. What does that have to do with belonging to a political party? Is the fact of a political party itself a form of ruling class. If you are a Republican you have to follow their agenda, if you are a Democrat, you have to follow their agenda. Personally I think it is all an illusion to let people think they have a choice but in reality they are both part of the same ruling class.
The way it is established today, in order to run for office, you pretty much have to belong to one of the two parties or you will get no where. So what is the answer, I think we need a third choice rather than being stuck with basically no choice. And this might be just pie in the sky, but like a third party of individuals volunteering their service to serve the true purpose of a public servant and that is for the rights of the individual and get rid of both political parties and career politicians. This might be wishful thinking, but it might be exactly what needs to happen.
