Gary Craig, the developer of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), states , “You can fill in the blank with almost any emotional issue or physical ailment. EFT can be helpful in conditions of post-traumatic stress disorder, addictions and eating disorders, knee pain, insomnia, multiple sclerosis, reactive attachment disorder, bedwetting, Alzheimer’s disease, anxiety, ritual abuse, depression, agoraphobia , and so on with a list of thousands of potential ailments.

The answer to this basic question if it is possible EFT might relieve the symptoms of a particular condition is…Yes! There is a high likelihood that when properly applied, EFT can either improve or completely eliminate many of the symptoms of a problem when there is an emotional element involved.

However, this does not mean that the EFT protocol has been developed to the extent it can cure everything. To the contrary, there is still much to learn about the uses and applications of EFT, and its possible limitations. In addition, many times the quality of results that can be achieved with EFT will depend on the degree of “EFT sophistication” that is applied to a particular challenge.
It most certainly does man that it is possible to witness EFT improvement in such a wide and diverse array of ailments and situations that it is easy to conclude that the uses and applications for EFT are nearly universal, although still not perfect in all cases.

People in a medically indoctrinated society are conditioned to think that for each health problem there is usually a specific drug or surgical remedy. Thus we take Midol for menstrual cramps and Prozac for depression. There is even competition among advertisers for which remedy is the best for a specific ailment (aspirin vs.Tylenol vs. Advil, for example).

Someone unfamiliar to the philosophy and technique concept of EFT could be confused when hearing that the same EFT used for back pain can also be used for anger, depression, hip pain, grief, fear of the dark, loneliness, anger and everything else. This notion that EFT can be effective in such a wide diversity of complaints does not fit most current thinking and conditioning.
Nonetheless, that’s how it is with EFT.

This EFT conceit stems from the widely accepted notion that human emotions have a deep and widely disbursed presence in most all human health problems. The only variable for the effect and influence of an emotional component in health problems is not if, but how much. Since EFT relieves and neutralizes these responses to emotional conflict, the use of EFT in a wide variety of physical and emotional health problems can be appreciated.

EFT point of clarification

While the same fundamental EFT technique is used in treatment of all ailments, the specific approach to a particular problem can differ greatly. Within the world of EFT there is something called “art of delivery.” This refers to the subtle, and sometimes drastic, alterations and modifications of the EFT process that are used while treating complex and deeply rooted situations. During these times it is required to determine what is called in EFT terminology the core issue, as well as related secondary aspects, while applying appropriate reframing and other artistic methods within the EFT bag of tools.

It is important to note that EFT is not intended to be a substitute for standard medical care or the doctor-patient relationship that might currently exist. Rather, EFT is used best and most appropriately when applied as a complement or supplement to existing medical care.
