The CW's TV series, Supernatural, is in its fourth season. And the storyline is leading to an all out war with demons. But the Winchester brothers may, yet, still succeed in stopping the forces looking to free Lucifer.

The pending war with the demons, however, began taking shape in the previous season, Season 3. Apparently, Sam was the chosen one to lead a demon army. Against whom was not made clear. Also, Season 3 introduced two recurring characters, the conniving Bela played by Lauren Cohen and the mysterious Ruby played by Katie Cassidy.

The following is my handpicked list of the most memorable episodes for Season 3. The list is in the order of episode shown:

Sin City. Episode 4. This episode was memorable because of Dean's conversation with a demon-possessed woman played by Sasha Barrese as they were both trapped in the basement of an abandoned house. She revealed a bit more about Sam's role in the upcoming war. And eventually, the two came to some form of understanding towards the end because she didn't want her demon boyfriend to kill Dean. And Dean didn't want Sam to kill the demons. It's also nice to see an ever lasting romance between two creatures from the netherworld.

Fresh Blood. Episode 7. Vampires. I love vampires. In the world of Supernatural, vampires are minor creatures of hell. Nevertheless, this episode was memorable because it was dark even for Supernatural. Sam killed a vamped out Gordon, a formidable hunter in his own right. Even more remarkable, Sam did it with his barehands by ripping Gordon's head off. Another memorable part of this episode is a vampire's lamentation for a family. The vampire was Dixon played by Matthews Humphrey.

A Very Supernatural Christmas. Episode 8. This was a great episode because of the flashback when the young Winchesters shared one of their Christmas. The episode really drove in Dean's love for his brother.

Mystery Spot. Episode 11. The take on Groundhog Day hit me from left field. Dean rocking out to Asia's Heat of the Moment was hilarious. But just as we saw how Dean loved Sam in A Very Supernatural Christmas, we saw in this episode how Sam loved Dean. He was really furious at how he lost his brother. And a subsequent scene in a motel room with Sam clenching his jaw as he prepared for a hunt was scary.

Jus in Bello. Episode 12. Another episode that took on a movie. This episode took place in a police station. Hence it felt like Assault on Precinct 13. The brothers, along with the surviving employees of the police station, had to fight their way out from a demon siege. We first felt the true power of Lilith in this episode. And I was pulling for Agent Henricksen played by Charles Malik Whitfield.

Ghostfacers. Episode 13. The mockery of reality TV made this episode memorable. The bleeps as Sam and Dean reluctantly worked with the Ghostfacers were funny. For all the goofy scenes, the episode was actually creepy.
