To qualify for a Pell Grant, you must be an undergraduate student. In some instances you may qualify for a Pell Grant if you are a student achieving your first professional academic degree, such as in accounting or business.
You must also be enrolled in a program that will result in a certification, diploma, or academic degree at any college eligible under the Federal Pell Grant Program. You must also sign a financial statement indicating that you are not in default on any other government loans. You must also show that the financial aid you are receiving will be used to meet your educational requirements. Ultimately, you must not have been arrested or have a conviction for the possession of or the sale of illegal drugs when seeking to obtain federal financial aid.
