It could be the spot of the perfect crime, but if anyone has been murdered, it is a crime which has not been prosecuted. Antarctica has no extradition treaties or any laws which enforce murder statutes anywhere on the continent.
Even though the flags of 10 nation are planted in Antarctica, not a single one has tried to open up real estate there. There has not been a single attempt by any nation to try and form some type of permanent colony here. Even so, some of the most brilliant minds and best technology resides here.
It may be surprising to know that the people who live here, although usually only for a short period, are known to have the highest IQ per capita on the planet. There are more people here with degrees from high level universities than there are high school diplomas. Being the most peaceful place on the world for scientific minds, it has more talent than any university out there. Antarctica is the only land which prohibits the detonation of nuclear bombs.
As a matter of fact, no matter what continent you go to, you will not find environment laws as strict as they are in Antarctica. Because of the slaughtering that both sealers and whalers did nearly a century ago, you need a special type of licenses in order to kill animals. Antarctica is home to the scientific motherlode: a strictly peaceful place to perform scientific research that benefits all of us.
