Anatomy and Physiology is the study of the human body and how it functions. It is generally divided into specific body systems, for example, the skeletal system or the digestive system etc. You must learn dozens of difficult terms and definitions including bones, body structures, tissues, muscles, glands and so much more. As a result, anatomy and physiology exams can be a very trying time for students.

I have been teaching anatomy and physiology for the last 7 years and have found that having a large set of revision questions is the best way to learn this difficult subject. With anatomy and physiology, it is vital that a student's knowledge is continually tested and using these questions is an ideal way to achieve this.

Multiple choice questions are the best type of questions to use when learning anatomy and physiology. They majority of examining bodies use this format for their exam papers so it is a good idea to follow the same format. With multiple choice questions you get four possible answers and you must choose only one. Please find some examples below;

Using an anatomy and physiology quiz guide is another essential addtion to a student's revision plan. The most important quiz categories that should be included in the guide are;

1. True or False
2. Fill in the Blanks
3. Short Answer Quiz
4. Crossword Puzzles
5. Word Search Puzzles

Learning anatomy and physiology can be quite boring but quizzes can make it more interesting. The best thing about the puzzles and quizzes is that they can be repeated over and over again until the student is familiar enough with the answers so they don't have to refer to their text books. A form of quiz taking that has become very popular over recent times is online quiz tutorials.

The best way to learn this subject is the repeat the questions and quizzes many times. For example, take one system at a time, such as the nervous system, and quiz yourself on this area until you are confident. Pick a number of questions from your large question bank, write them out on a record card and learn them throughout the day. At the end of that day test yourself and see how much progress you made. The next day take another 20 questions and learn them. Repeat this for about one week. You will be amazed at how much you learn in that short week just by following this simple method.

It is also a good idea to learn the body systems is a certain order. The best chapter to start on would be the cell and tissues. Not only is it how the human body begins but it is also the toughest chapter and I like to get the hardest part over with first! The skeletal and muscular systems should be learned together as some bones and muscle names are similar, always start with the skeletal system. Take the circulatory and lymphatic systems and learn these together. The reproductive and endocrine systems should also be learned together as they both cover the area of hormones.
