So you've just taken the leap and became a team member for Amway, or you're thinking about it. You could also already be a part of the team and you haven't reached all your goals within the company yet.

I plan on giving an overview of Amway and their business opportunity. The pros and cons of the company. I come from a sales background and have quite a bit of experience in both MLM and the sales industry.

Amway Overview
Amway is a network marketing company with a specialization primarily in the health, beauty and home care markets. Health & Beauty products accounted for nearly 60% of worldwide sales back in 2004. They're one of the biggest and longest standing MLM's today. AM has had success for over 40 years and they've been around since the late 50s, I'm in no way affiliated with this business. Their primary target is middle aged mid class clientele.

Amway sells mostly health/beauty products because these products are purchased at regular intervals. This is probably the best kind of residual income generator for your money's worth. Amway offers some of best products available in a lot of categories, selling a high end product enforces a good reputation. Organizational help is something that's more recently been added to their company as the economy has pretty much demanded it.

The MLM
As long as MLM exists it will always be criticized by the general public, which is impossible to get past. The company is still real, legal and money is made on a daily basis.

The idea is to acquire reps and customers. When you can't acquire a rep, the idea is to get them as a client, either through insurance, electronics, or supplements etc. Silver level is a good promotion to aim for. Diamond is one of the highest levels to reach in Amway. At that level you make over six figures and you're a full time Amway business owner.

It can be difficult to produce a lot of Silvers or to even get there yourself, a lot of that having to do with the mlm industry and the service field itself. The biggest wall representatives face getting into the mlm world is building the trust of clients they have as you're dealing with one of the most prominent things in someone's life, their money.

A rep with no MLM background or connections can have a hard time building contacts and clients without prior experience. Trying to learn a business while working full-time and building a huge list of good leads can be extremely difficult. The last thing reps starting out are thinking of is lead generation when that should be their number one goal. When reps are doing this job part-time they usually have a full time job and doing all of the previous mentioned can be a daunting task, you can shoot yourself in the foot before you even start.

It's important to have a marketing game plan when getting involved in a business with this much scope. I use the internet myself, and generate all my leads on line for free.
