Everyone knows that the acai berry contains a great amount of vitamins and minerals. In just one tiny little acai berry, you’ll find Vitamin A, Vitamin B (specifically, B1, B2, and B3), Vitamin C, and Vitamin E. You’ll also find a number of minerals like zinc, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and copper. There is of course a metric-helluvalot of antioxidant in there, too.

This sounds like a list you’d find on the back of your daily multivitamin, and some people wonder if they can completely replace this multivitamin with an acai berry product.

While this is definitely possible, it isn’t such a good idea, though. If your multivitamin is as good as it should be, it will contain a number of vitamins and minerals that the acai berry does not. These include vitamins that you need to have each day.

There’s also the problem of determining how much of each vitamin is in an acai berry supplement. Different products contain different amounts of acai which is treated in a different way. Each, therefore, will have a completely different quantity of each of the vitamins in it. As acai is a pure fruit it is difficult to gauge how much of the nutritional goodness is in each dose. They rarely break it down, so it can be hard to tell if you’re getting each of each vitamin and mineral.

This is the biggest problem with replacing a multivitamin with an acai berry supplement. If you don’t know how much of the daily recommended amount of each vitamin is in you acai berry product, you really can’t gauge how much of that vitamin you need to get from meals.

Fortunately, there's no harm in taking both. If you do have to choose, then acai is the superior choice; this is not because it contains all the vitamins and minerals that a multivitamin might have, but because it contains muc more to the ones that matter.
