Getting married can be so expensive and with the credit crunch these days, everyone is looking for ways to reduce costs and save money and cutting your wedding day costs, without compromising your special day, could help.

1. Book your honeymoon in advance - so many people leave booking their honeymoon to close to their wedding and then end up paying 30 to 40% more costs than what was really needed. A lot of people book holidays normally way in advance to get early booking fees, so why not do the same with booking your honeymoon? A lot of holiday and vacation companies these days have a service to help you with joint wedding and honeymoon packages and these usually include the organisation of the ceremony and paperwork

2. Look around carefully for your wedding car hire. The price of hiring a Rolls Royce or limousine can vary greatly and you can often get a very similar service for quite different costs. Shop around and also look for reviews on the service provider. The price does not necessarily reflect the best service so shop around.

3. Why not actually consider getting married and taking your honeymoon as one. You can invite important relatives and friends and make it into one big holiday abroad. Why not have a wedding in Iceland, Las Vegas or the Bahamas for example. You can save thousands or pounds or dollars by getting married at your honeymoon location. This way of getting married is becoming more and more popular for obvious reasons.

4. Maybe a little cheeky yet very good for saving money on your wedding day and something I have started to see more and more at people's weddings is to have a paid bar. In other words, choose a location for the wedding, which has a paid bar so that guests end up paying for their own drinks at the wedding. You might want to provide drinks for the main meal for the wedding i.e. a few bottles of wine per table but then people can buy from the bar.

5. A wonderful idea which a friend used at his wedding to save money on wedding photos and to end up with what were in fact even better pictures for the reception was to leave disposal cameras on each guest table for the meal and ceremony and to let guest take the pictures they wanted to and then to collect the disposal cameras afterwards.
