I noticed there are hundreds or even thousands of blogs themes online but I realized there are really lots of bloggers doing lots of wrong things when choosing a theme for their blogs. So I decided to share some insides of what you should look for when choosing a blog theme.
1. Use a blog theme with three columns
Why three columns? Because it will maximize the exposure of your readers views on your blog. If you survey or look at the top blogs on the Internet almost 50% of them use 3 columns on their blogs just that you did not noticed it.
2. Use a theme that has at least a resolution of 1024 x 768 on your monitor screen
Because of LCD getting cheaper nowadays and more people are getting more advanced computers, you should leverage on every space possible you have on their screens. To do that, choose only themes that have at least 1024 x 768 resolution to get the maximum reach to your readers
3. Never use strange colors on your blogs.
Never ever use themes that are in black, purple or any dark color themes. Why? It’s hard for the user to read your text when your theme are in dark colors. Instead, what you should be doing is use themes with light colors like white, light blue, light red and so on.
4. Have the navigation bar on the top of your blog
To ensure a good user experience for your readers always try to have the navigation on the top of your blog. This in return will instantly tell your readers you have much more content to browse on your website.
I hope if you realized you have a blog theme that doesn’t have these stuffs, you would want to consider changing your theme now.
