Barcelona attracts a lot of young visitors with its vibrant nightlife. The international crowd of travellers and students gives the city a cosmopolitan flavour, fuelling trendy nightclubs and all-night parties. It has a reputation as a fiesta town for many reasons. Here are ten of them:
1. Razzmatazz- One of the most popular nightclubs, Razzmatazz is at the top of the indie scene in Barcelona. Bands like The Killers and Kasabian play regularly, and on an off night they still have great rock, pop, electro and punk tunes playing in their three different rooms. Located on Pamplona 88 in the Poble Nou district, Razzmatazz is open weekends from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.
2. Moog- Located in the Gothic Quarter and decorated to match its surroundings, Moog's industrial look combined with its trendy crowd and techno beats make for a long night of dancing and drinking. Moog is found at Arc de Teatre 3, open daily midnight - 5 a.m.
3. Elephant- One of the more upscale clubs in Barcelona, this spot is frequented by the trendiest of the trend-setters. Dress to impress or you might get turned away at the door. Found at Passage del Tillers in la Zona Universitaria, open Thurs-Sat 11-30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
4. Pacha- Named after its sister club in Ibiza, the Barcelona version does not disappoint, attracting world-renowned DJs and hip crowds. Dress code- no sneakers. Located at Av. Doctor Maranon, open midnight - 6 a.m.
5. Otto Zutz- Great music and a more mature crowd make this place a long-lasting favourite. The club is located at the Carrer de Lincoln, at Fontana and is open midnight - 5 a.m.
6. Sutton- If you're feeling overwhelmed by the young and fashionable, maybe the older crowd at this relaxed nightclub will ease your nerves. To be found at Calle Tuset 13 and is open from 11 p.m. - 3 a.m.
7. Piratas- No tour of Barcelona's nightlife would be complete without seeing the spectacle that is Piratas. If you're up for an adventure then you should see this show on Calle Muntanya and open weekends from midnight - 6 a.m.
8. Bikini- Playing hip-hop, house and funk in a cool, casual venue, it attracts quality performers and a diverse crowd. The club is at Deu i Mata 105, at Entenca, open from midnight - 5 a.m.
9. Baja Beach Club- Located on the beach, the atmosphere is appropriately casual but that does not stop anyone from partying until sunrise. You will find this club at Paseo Maritimo 34 open from 10.30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
10. Jamboree- Located in the Plaza Real, this little hideout offers something different from the usual techno-pumping clubs, with live music earlier and hip-hop played after the sets. Open 11-00 p.m. - 5 a.m.
